Wat Wiang was registered as an historical location on 27 September 1936. Historical remains are the base of the current vihara and the base of the Phra Mo Shrine; a Buddha image under Naga; seven red sandstone images in Ayutthaya art; a bronze torso of the Bodhisattva Avalokitevara in Dvaravati art (currently preserved at the Chaiya National Museum); and the 24th stone inscription (Sor Tor 4) and (Kor or Sor Tor 3).
