Khlong 11 is part of the Rangsit Project initiated in 1890 as Thailand's first comprehensive irrigation program designed to expand rice cultivation into virgin lower basin lands. King Chulalongkorn ordered the construction of the canals in 1890 and assigned Prince Sai Sanitvongse, the maternal grandfather of Prince Rangsit, as the project president. Khlong 10 connects Khlong Rapiphat in the north with Khlong Hok Wa in the south. Khlong 14 marks the provincial border here between Pathumthani and Nakhon Nayok.
