Silvolde is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. it is directly adjacent to the town of Terborg. It has 5,375 inhabitants. The name Silvolde appears for the first time in the year 1188. Silvolde comes from: sil the Germanic word suli, a house that consists of one room. Volde comes from the word wold, ground overgrown with alders, willows and low shrubs. This is not the only explanation of the name, alternatively the name Silvolde may come from the words Isala and would.
