The mushroom rock of Kimolos is a great example of wind erosion. The softer underlying rock at the base is eroded by wind laden with sand grains. And like most islands in the Aegean sea, the wind blows here pretty strong on Kimolos. Although these kind of rock is not unique in the world, it is a pretty rare geomorphological phenomena. The rock is called Skiadi.
