This lock was already built in the 17th century to transport peat to the Vecht. It is now the largest passage between the Vecht and the Loosdrechte Plassen, with a decay of about 1 meter. It is a pleasant hustle and bustle here in the summer. If the boat is in the lock, the skipper can stay on board. The rest of the group can then get an ice cream or drink in the lock keeper's shop, or marvel at the large collection of separate curiosities.
