The 1800s was the golden age of Swedish porcelain industry. The century meant technological progress and knowledge. The domestic mass production led to a diversity of goods and demand for tableware and ornaments increased in a high rate. Goods from the new national factories were the height of fashion. In Swedish castles and stately homes the East India imported porcelain was replaced with modern tableware made by Rörstrand or Gustavsberg. Porcelain was the fashion conscious interior decorators material of choice in the 1800s.
