You are in the heart of Fontán, a typical fishermen's area where you will find beautiful 18th century houses.
Although Fontán is recognised by its colouring, originally most of the walls were painted white and it was only joinery of the frames and balconies which was tinged with colour, which reportedly was from surplus paint from the boats.
Walking through its streets is like stepping back in time. If you do it after dark you will be surprised to find yourself whispering as if trying to avoid breaking the silence and ending the magic that prevails in the environment.
In this small square the world of the sea joins up with the countryside and you can see a small wooden hórreo (raised granary). Its original function was to keep corn and other agricultural products.
From here you can continue to Fontán Fort (18th century) or go down to the maritime promenade and continue to A Tenencia, the other fishermen's district of Sada, whose origin dates back to the 19th century.Discover the historic districts in this video
