Gunpowder building

Public | Dutch

Source: Pascal Brackman

The gunpowder room has a typical saddle roof to protect it (to a certain extent) from incoming canon balls and avoiding a huge explosion. The tilted roof had in most cases the effect that the canon balls bounced away from the roof and didn't penetrate the building causing a hue explosion.
