At the Visitor Center of the Hageland wine (V) in the center of Wezemaal you follow the approach route of the hike Hagelandse Vallei. When you have crossed the bridge over the E314 1, take the first right, the Groddestraat. A little further you ignore the cul-de-sac on the right and follow the road straight ahead. On a T you go to the right and a little further in the bend straight into the forest. In heavy rain, this strip can be very soggy. Pheasants shoot away and in the distance you can hear the buzz of the E314. The Winge Valley was mutilated here in the 70s by the construction of the highway. The Kloosterbos was literally cut in half. You go through the meadow and a wooden sasje, and back into the forest. The area is managed by Natuurpunt and you follow the blue diamond here. When you have crossed the stream over a wooden deck, follow the window on the left. In the open meadow you walk further along the edge. A sign from Natuurpunt provides an explanation of the beautiful Hageland valley. On the right, fox-headed sheep graze the meadow. You go through a wooden sasje and continue to follow the blue window on the left. Past the house of a surgeon on the right, cross the Winge and follow straight ahead. The Rotselaarspad ends on a T, take the right and immediately the first left, continue on the Rotselaarpad. The road turns into grass past the last house. Immediately left, take the bat path over the water. At the end you cross the Winge and you walk to the right along the water. You arrive at the Bergestraat, opposite the hof ter Winge 2. The bakehouse, a little further to the left, still serves weekly. However, you take to the right, cross the bridge and continue straight along the Winge. Follow the trail upstream, past a series of pollard willows and a farm. The path widens again and you follow straight ahead. Turn left and you will arrive at the asphalted road with a water mill on the right. At the fork, follow the street on the left with the prohibition sign. You come out of the Molenbaan, cross the street and go to the sound panels along the E314, where you continue to follow to the right. At the end turn left, cross the bridge over the E314 3 again. Then take the Stenenmuurstraat on the right. After 200 m follow those links uphill. Between the fruit orchards you follow the long climb to the top. There you end up on the marked Wijngaardberg walk, of which you follow the wooden poles for quite some time. On this plateau you mainly end up between the apple and pear orchards, including jonagold, boskoop, conférence and doyenné. You follow the Waterloosstraat and you turn left a little further into an earthen path, also here with walking signs. Take the Waterloospad a little further to the right and then turn right into a hollow road. You can clearly see the iron sandstone layers that make up the hill. At the end turn left, follow the Wijngaardbergroute. The road slopes through the fruit orchards with beautiful views all around. Just after leaving the nature reserve, ignore the sign to the right and do not go into the forest, but continue straight along the field of sunflowers, all the way to the top. You end up on top of a wide earthen road. Take to the right and the path ends further on. On the left you have a wooden bridge over the stone Wine Wall 4. The wall of iron sandstone - protected as a monument since 1995 - was more than 1.5 km long, 1.7 m wide and 1.5 m high and sheltered the vines from the cold north wind in the 19th century. Cross the bridge and continue walking along the wall. At the end, the path goes down. You take the wooden stairs and downstairs you will find a picnic table with a magnificent view of Wezemaal and the Hageland behind it. Below you are some vines and further along the path you will find explanations about traditional viticulture. A little further on the wooden railing you take the path down on the right. At the bottom of the road is information about the local microclimate in these hills. You turn right to the main road with chapel and then right again until you reach the Visitor Center.
