Description by the author

Short walk in the Hallerbos which is very suitable for children. The Hallerbos lies together with the Sonian Forest, the Meerdaal Forest and the Buggenhout Forest, one of the last remnants of an original jungle. A large part of the Hallerbos consists of beautiful beech trees. But most of the trees are not that old because of the turbulent history of the forest. During the First World War, the German occupier cut down almost all the large trees and the forest was destroyed. Fortunately, you can still fully enjoy it now.
