The Dolomites Mountains are known for their vertical peaks of sometimes almost white dolomite rock. One of the routes that takes you through the Italian part of this mountain range is the Grande Strada. The route passes through three Italian provinces (Südtirol, Trentino and Belluno) and three languages are spoken (Italian, German and Ladin).
