Piacenza è un comune italiano di 102 964 abitanti, capoluogo dell'omonima provincia dell'Emilia-Romagna.
Città più occidentale della regione, ha forti relazioni con la Lombardia, con la quale confina, ed in particolare con Milanonella cui area metropolitana è inserita. «Terra di passo», come la definì già Leonardo da Vinci nel Codice Atlantico in virtù della sua cruciale collocazione geografica, Piacenza integra caratteristiche dei vicini territori liguri e piemontesi sommate ad una prevalente influenza lombarda, favorita dalle comunicazioni con la vicina metropoli, che ne attenuano l’impronta emiliana.
