Pilgrimage from St. Vincentius (Rijckholt) to St. Gerardus (Wittem)

A beautiful and varied hike through a piece of unknown nature with a religious significance. This route connects two ancient pilgrimage sites in Southern Netherlands.
At the end, there is a steep ascent, followed by a beautiful panoramic view when you turn around.

Return journey:
A return trip using mostly public transportation is possible as follows:
Walk from the monastery Wittem to the bus stop at Partijerweg (= direction Partij) and take bus line 57 from Arriva towards Mechelen (= destination Maastricht).
Enjoy a nice round trip through the Heuvelland without transfers and get off in Gronsveld (= stop Vroendalsweg).
From there, walk about 1.7 km back through Gronsveld to Rijckholt, the starting point.
