Founded in 1530 and consecrated in 1572, the church belonged to the Gesuate nuns of Lucca. It was completely rebuilt between 1707 and 1710.
The square bell tower is made of brick and dates from 1710. It was built to replace an existing one from 1614.
Inside, there is a 19th-century Agati organ and 18th-century paintings. The Christ fallen under the cross, placed in a niche in the right wall, dates from 1705: it is a wooden sculpture, covered with white stucco, which was made by Giuseppe Giacobbi for the Charterhouse of Calci and was moved to its present site in 1808 transferred.
