Der Name des Dorfes bezieht sich auf das Schloss Solre, das 1473 von den Truppen des Grafen von Saint-Pol vollständig zerstört wurde. Diese mittelalterliche Burg wurde anschließend mehrere Male erobert, zerstört oder wieder aufgebaut, ist aber nun komplett verschwunden. Geschichten und Entdeckungen aus der Zeit der Kriege, Belagerungen und Brände in der Region werden regelmäßig gemacht.
