Die ältesten Reste der Kirche wurden bei Untersuchungen im Jahr 1948 gefunden. Es handelte sich um Pfahllöcher, die möglicherweise zeitgleich mit der Gründung eines Friedhofs entstanden sind. Es wird vermutet, dass hier bereits vor 1000 ein dreischiffiges Holz-Kirchlein ohne Turm gestanden hat. Diese Kirche wurde nach einem Brand von einer steinernen Kirche auf einem Fundament aus Feldsteinen mit einem schweren Turm auf der Westseite abgelöst. Heute wird die Kirche als R.K. Kirche genutzt.
