La Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea "Giuseppe Sciortino", situata nell'ex monastero benedettino di Piazza Guglielmo II a Monreale, ospita oltre duecento opere di artisti del Novecento italiano.
Le opere in mostra sono frutto di donazioni (avvenute in tre distinte occasioni, nel 1986, 1997 e 2002) di Eleonora Nora Posabella, titolare della galleria "Al Vantaggio" di Roma , per rendere omaggio alla memoria della sua vita socio , uomo di cultura e cittadino di Monreale.
Tra le pregevoli opere in mostra, capolavori realizzati da grandi maestri della scena nazionale come Domenico Purificato, Renato Guttuso, Carlo Levi, Giorgio De Chirico, Filippo De Pisis, Fausto Pirandello, Mario Sironi, Giorgio Morandi e Luigi Bartolini.
