De eerste voorstelling vond plaats op 10 juli 1914, enkele dagen voor de oorlog, en kreeg de naam Excelsior.Na twee grote verbouwingen in 1952 en 1978, sloot het etablissement in oktober 2006 voor grote moderniseringswerken.Zodra de financiële middelen gevonden waren, begonnen de werken op 4 augustus 2008 en gingen ze open op 24 april 2009.De bioscoop van Turenne heeft 3 zalen die een eclectisch programma aanbieden.3D-bioscoop is beschikbaar. Sinds 2011 is de bioscoop van Turenne overgeschakeld op digitale projectie.
