We start heading south and after about 35 km we reach Tongeren. The city of Ambiorix, the Gallic leader of the Eburones and the Gallo-Roman Museum, certainly worth a visit. Today we make an eastern curve. Via the King Albert Canal and the South Willemsvaart, we roll towards Maasmechelen. Close to Dilsen-Stokkem, after about 81 km, we see the stately Hotel Beau Séjour from the EEN series. We then seek out the national border and flirt along the Meuse with the Netherlands. Just past Aldeneik, we head back inland above Kinrooi towards Bree.
