El Museo Arqueológico Nacional de Nápoles está considerado uno de los más importantes de su género en Europa, tanto por la calidad como por la cantidad de las obras que expone.[2]
El edificio donde se aloja el museo, se empezó a construir en 1585, tiene también un gran interés arquitectónico y, de hecho, es uno de los principales palacios monumentales de Nápoles. Está situado en la Plaza del Museo, núm. 19.
