La Porte du Bas (Porta Bassa) conduce al centro della città di Mutzig, che si trova sulla strada del vino dell'Alsazia a circa 30 km da Strasburgo
Innalzata nel 1559, la Porte du Bas (Untertor) rimane uno dei resti più notevoli delle fortificazioni medievali della città. Un Saint-Maurice, lo stemma della città, dipinto nel 1895, adorna la facciata orientale. Fino al 1775 era preceduto da un'opera avanzata (barbacane) che fu sostituita da un arco monumentale demolito nel 1894.
