Le champ de houblon a été créé en 2010 à l'initiative de Joris Vanderveken, Edwin Fabri et Willy Marivoet, en collaboration avec la commune d'Asse et la province du Brabant flamand.
Il se trouve sur un terrain où du houblon était également cultivé des décennies auparavant.
Entre les rameaux de houblon se trouve l'œuvre de Peter Schoutsen, ce qui confère au site le statut d'élément paysager.
La récolte de ce champ de houblon est notamment utilisée pour décorer des chars lors du défilé des houblonniers pendant les fêtes de houblon à Asse.
