Le grand œuvre, Vaches en route vers la lande est de Florent Crabeels, cet autre innovateur de la peinture du 19ème siècle. Crabeels est surnommé le peintre de la lumière et Pol De Mont l'a qualifié de 'notre premier luministe belge'. L'arrière-plan montre l'œuvre Le Champ de charbon, une œuvre où la lumière domine également. Il était très ami avec Heymans, dix ans plus jeune mais pourtant très influencé par lui. Crabeels habitait dans une partie de la maison de Janneke 'Tijs' Van de Voet, (près du pont au-dessus de l'autoroute) une fermière célibataire (photo sur le panneau).
