A prop del lloc on es trobaven les antigues drassanes (avui són a l'altra riba del riu) hi ha un gegantí rellotge de sol.
Vila do Conde és una ciutat associada als descobriments portuguesos . A les drassanes de la ciutat es van construir navilis, caravel·les... que solcaven els mars a la recerca de nous mons. En aquella època, els navegants estaven equipats amb els més diversos instruments d'orientació i navegació , com ara brúixoles, astrolabis... I també el rellotge de sol, que permetia mesurar el pas del temps.
Tot i la seva mida, no tothom sap que és un rellotge. Si vols veure-ho millor, acosta't a la Capela do Socorro. Des d'allà, la vista és privilegiada i podreu entendre millor com funciona aquest rellotge.
