Surnommée « la Grande Dame du Marensin », Lit-et-Mixe fait office de station balnéaire avec sa plage de la Côte d'Argent sur l'océan Atlantique , située à 7 km du village.Elle vit également de la sylviculture et possède dans son bourg principal de nombreux commerces nécessaires pour alimenter sa vaste zone de chalandise, l'ensemble du Marensin.
