Petworth House est un manoir de la fin du XVIIe siècle situé à Petworth dans le Sussex de l'Ouest . Reconstruit en 1688 par Charles Seymour , il fut réaménagé dans les années 1870 par Anthony Salvin . Auparavant, le domaine était défendu par un château fort édifié par Henry de Percy , dont la chapelle du XIIIe siècle et les celliers ont subsisté jusqu'à aujourd'hui.
Le château se dresse au centre d'un parc d'une superficie de 2,8 km2, Petworth Park, dont les jardins ont été dessinés par « Capability » Brown. Avec son bois de 12 ha appelé Pleasure Ground, c’est l’un des parcs les plus réputés d'Angleterre, sans doute aussi en raison du nombre de tableaux qu'en a tiré Turner. Il abrite en outre le plus grand troupeau de daims de toute l’Angleterre.
