San Lorenzo è una chiesa neogotica in mattoni costruita nel 1922 su un progetto di Henri Carbon e Henri Pil di Ostenda. Questi architetti si occuparono anche della progettazione degli arredi.
Per ottimizzare l'accessibilità, si è deciso, contrariamente alla consuetudine, di orientare l'accesso verso la Westendelaan e non, come di consueto, con il coro rivolto ad est.
Internamente è priva di intonaco, il che conferisce all'insieme un aspetto sobrio e pulito.
Nel coro si trova una vetrata che rappresenta i Sette Sacramenti. È stata realizzata dalla casa Desmet di Bruges.
