Durante la tua visita a Certaldo ti imbatti spesso nel nome Boccaccio. Questo scrittore, poeta e umanista, vissuto tra il 1313 e il 1375, è il più famoso residente di Certaldo. È noto soprattutto per il Decamerone , una trama di giovani fuggiti da Firenze durante l'epidemia di peste del 1348. Si ritiene che Boccaccio sia sepolto nella chiesa dei SS a Certaldo Alto.
