Lidia Poet è la prima donna in assoluto a lavorare come avvocato in Italia prima che le venisse detto che non avrebbe mai più potuto farlo. Si laureò il 17 giugno 1881 Università degli Studi di Torino Facoltà di Giurisprudenza
Ambientata a Torino alla fine dell'Ottocento, la storia di Poet racconta la lotta per l'uguaglianza di genere in un'epoca in cui ancora non esisteva. La sua sospensione ha scatenato un movimento per consentire alle donne di esercitare i diritti e ricoprire cariche pubbliche in Italia.
