Yutz is een gemeente in het Franse departement Moselle . De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Thionville, en is kantonhoofdplaats. De gemeente telde 17.143 inwoners op 1 januari 2019.De gemeente is ontstaan op 1 januari 1971 door de fusie van Basse-Yutz en Haute-Yutz. Op het grondgebied van de gemeente stonden van oudsher drie dorpen: Macquenom, Basse-Yutz en Haute-Yutz. Al in de 18e eeuw groeiden de dorpen van Macquenom en Basse-Yutz samen. Toen werd ook een kanaal gegraven evenwijdig aan de Moezel. Aan de oostkant van dat kanaal, nabij Haute-Yutz kwam een vestingwerk om de stad Thionville te beschermen . In 1815 werd overgegaan tot de volledige afbraak van het dorp Haute-Yutz omdat dit te dicht tegen het vestingwerk lag. Enkel een stenen kruis herinnert aan het oude dorp van Haute-Yutz. Het dorp werd langsheen de Moezel heropgebouwd.
