De abdijkerk, daterend uit de 11e tot 17e eeuw, is een mooi voorbeeld van Romaanse kunst, beïnvloed door de Saintonge en Poitou regio's, met zijn kooromgang, achthoekige klokkentoren en hoge kwaliteit gebeeldhouwde decoratie. De abdij werd in de 11e eeuw gesticht door Willem VIII van Aquitanië en huisvestte in de 12e eeuw een gemeenschap monniken die lid waren van de Orde van Sint-Augustinus. Meerdere malen verwoest (Honderdjarige Oorlog, Godsdienstoorlogen), werd het in de 18e eeuw herbouwd en in 1792 verkocht als nationaal bezit. Tijdens de zomer worden er verschillende kunstwerken tentoongesteld.
Een bezoek aan de abdijwoning is inbegrepen in de rondleiding (reserveren verplicht).
