Op deze huizen werden kruisen geplaatst. Dat zou de duivel moeten weerhouden om het dorp binnen te gaan. In de 19e eeuw breidden de plaatselijke predikant en landeigenaar van Jeremiah Trist de gebouwen van het dorp uit. Afgezien van het overtuigen van zijn parochianen om regelmatig naar de kerk te gaan, raakte hij geïnteresseerd in eigendom. Twee van de huisjes zijn ronde huizen: "The Beehive" en "Left Round House". Ze werden naast elkaar aan een toegangsweg naar het dorp gebouwd.
