De Ruhrhaldenweg is een 580 km lange lange-afstands-wandellus die de terrils, tuinwijken en voormalige mijnen van de Ruhrmetropool met elkaar verbindt. Een keten van voetwegels, jaagpaden, kleine en grote straten, omgebouwde spoorlijnen en terrilpaden voert je door het hele Ruhrgebiet, van Moers en Duisburg in het westen tot Dortmund en Bergkamen in het oosten.
Deze vijftiende etappe vertrekt bij het station van Gladbeck West en leidt je meteen naar de schitterende "Zechenhaus-Siedlung der Bergleute". Door bossen gaat het dan naar Zeche Zweckel met haar goed bewaarde machinehal (helaas enkel de tweede zondag van de maand te bezoeken). Schloss Beck in Feldhausen is nog zo'n goed bewaard kleinood. We wandelen rond de reusachtige terril van Scholven heen (afgesloten) en beklimmen de lagere terril Scholver Feld. Doorheen verschillende natuurreservaten bereiken we tenslotte het stationnetje van Hassel.

The Ruhrhaldenweg is a 580 km long long-distance hiking loop that connects the slag heaps, garden cities and former mines of the Ruhr metropolis. A chain of footpaths, towpaths, small and large streets, converted railway lines and slag heap paths takes you through the entire Ruhrgebiet, from Moers and Duisburg in the west to Dortmund and Bergkamen in the east.
This fifteenth section starts at the station of Gladbeck West and leads you directly to the magnificent "Zechenhaus-Siedlung der Bergleute". Through forests it then goes to Zeche Zweckel with its well-preserved machine hall (unfortunately only open on the second Sunday of the month). Schloss Beck in Feldhausen is another well-preserved gem. We walk around the huge slag heap of Scholven (closed) and climb the lower slag heap Scholver Feld. Through several nature reserves we finally reach the little station of Hassel.
