War memorial Puissemange

In memory of two soldiers who died in the two wars: the 1st (Bouzeret Maurice) died at the end of the First War, on October 31, 1918 and the 2nd (Simon Robert) died on the last day of the Second War, on 10 May 1945.

The war memorial stands on the site of a former drinking trough that no longer exists.

The monument to the dead of wars 14-18 and 40-45 is made of irregularly shaped rough Meuse limestone . A rectangular bronze memorial plaque has been placed on the front of the rock and bears the inscription:

At the end of 1918, the soldiers of Pussemange returned one after another for a few days' leave. Only one is missing: Maurice Bouzeret, whose family, a widow of a customs officer with five children, had emigrated in 1914, and who was incorporated in France. This family did not return to Pussemange. Maurice Louis Léopold BOUZERET was born on October 22, 1897 in Chassepierre, the son of Sébastien and Marie Jacob. Soldier in the 16th line, he died on October 31, 1918 in Aalter . He was domiciled in Pussemange.

Simon Robert was a soldier in the 1st Ardennes chasseurs and was killed on the field of honor near Bodange on May 10, 1940.
