The Llano de la Virgen is an esplanade located on the beach of Chimisay;
It has been declared a Property of Cultural Interest, with the Historic Site category, for its great cultural, symbolic and religious significance, related to the miraculous appearance of the image of the Virgin of Candelaria to the Guanches and to the traditional pilgrimage of Socorro.
Every year the Guanche ceremony takes place in the Llano de la Virgen, a popular representation of the discovery of the Virgin and the first miracles she performed . Within this enclosure is a place called Ceremony Field.
The relief slope is a paved slope, located on the south side of the "Ceremony Field", which overcomes the irregularities of the pumice deposits on the coast to access the Hermitage of El Socorro and its village. Tradition tells that it is in this place where the Mencey Acaymo asks for "help" to be able to overcome the orographic difficulties during the transfer of the statue to Chinguaro.
