The Rabais Valley, a dive into the nature of the Gaume

With mountain biking, we cross one of the most beautiful forests in Wallonia, that of Virton.

The reflection of the sun on the lake and the small chalets scattered in the shade of the undergrowth create a holiday atmosphere in the Rabais Valley.

From the first meters, this circuit crosses the forest. Throughout the 15 km we stay in the hushed, humid and fairytale atmosphere. We are located in the heart of a mixed forest with trees of different species and ages.

Along the winding roads, we see beech trees emerge and the play of light they offer. This type of forest is also very resistant to wind and the large clearings prevent too much snow from accumulating on the branches.

Leaving the forest, the road winds towards Croix Rouge and its Fairy Hole, a limestone rock with strange shapes. At the crossroads, we descend to the Domaine de la vallée du Rabais, where we find the starting point of the Sentier des Songes (1.5 km). This "path of imagination" is an unusual artistic journey that you can also follow by bike.
