Description by the author

Nimes was an important city in the time of the Roman Empire. Today there are many places of interest in the city that remind you of it. This six kilometer long city walk starts at the train station and takes you through the pleasant streets in the historic center. The best known buildings are the Arena of Nimes and the Maison Carré and were both built two thousand years ago. Other sights along the route are the Jardin de la fontaine, the Tour Magne and the cathedral.
