Die École Centrale de Nantes, oder Centrale Nantes, ist eine Grande École d’Ingénieurs – eine französische technische Eliteuniversität– die 1919 unter dem Namen Institut Polytechnique de l'Ouest gegründet wurde. Ihr Ziel ist Bachelor-, Master- und PhD-Programme anzubieten, die auf den neuesten wissenschaftlichen Entwicklungen und den besten Managementpraktiken basieren. Centrale Nantes wird in mehreren nationalen und internationalen Rankings durchwegs unter den besten Hochschulen Frankreichs aufgeführt. Centrale Nantes ist derzeit auf Platz 4 der 174 französischen technischen Grande Écoles im L’Etudiant-Ranking 2019.
Centrale Nantes ist Mitglied der Groupe des écoles centrale zusammen mit ihren Partnerinstitutionen CentraleSupélec, Centrale Lille, Centrale Lyon und Centrale Marseille. Es ist auch Mitglied des TIME-Netzwerks , das den Austausch von Studenten zwischen den führenden technischen Hochschulen in Europa ermöglicht.
