The river Mornos carries a large amount of sediments from the Pindus mountains in the north and deposits them in the Gulf of Corinth, east of Nafpaktos. It also built an extending alluvial plain in the gulf, which is located south of the E65, just before you reach the town of Nafpaktos (coming from the east).
