The giant's tomb
The Giant’s Tomb has been admired by many, including Victor Hugo and Arthur Rimbaud.
The origin of the name is unknown, but this promontory, surrounded by a loop in the river Semois, is reminiscent of a vast tomb.
The site owes much of its beauty to the sinuously-curving river, running around a couple of small islands and down the miniature rapids created by outcrops of rock.
Grass fields colour the alluvial plain a gentle shade of green. However, man has also left his mark on this landscape, in particular through the Rivage mill, with its wildflower garden and the “forest museum”.
