The Brachter castle is located in the middle of the village and was commissioned by Georg Friedrich August Ferrand von Montigny. In the nineteenth century, the Von Montigny family left the Eifel and distanced themselves from the castle. The new owner was an ancestor of the current owners, the Hilar Kaut family. The coat of arms of Von Montigny, which depicts swords and a leaping lion, can still be found at the back of the building.
