It is located on the Mechelsesteenweg in the Belgian city of Lier, in the province of Antwerp, 1700 m southwest of the Grote Markt. The cemetery was designed by Edward Careels. It has an area of 50 ares and is enclosed on the street side by a brick wall with a balustrade of bluestone columns and capstones. The entrance consists of a double metal gate. At the back of the cemetery is a monument, made by the German artist Georg Kolbe. In the centre is a lawn with a wooden cross and a flagpole.
