Description by the author

This beautiful circuit crosses the landscape formed by the first hill of Lorraine, the cuesta.

In the valley of the Attert, we drive between the forest of Anlier and the famous cuestas of Lorraine (Belgian). From the village of Attert, on the right, you can see the meanders of the river that winds through the valley.

They take us to Grendel, another village full of character with wet meadows to the east that are protected as a nature reserve. The route plays hare with the relief. The hills and valleys stretch from west to east, alternating between soft and hard rocks.

The "route de la cuesta" brings us to the local heritage that makes the richness of the villages we cross: public wash houses, water points, fountains and crucifixes have helped to build the identity of the region. We arrive in Tontelange, at the gates of Lorraine. The architecture testifies to this, with a continuous building along the road.

We then pass in front of the quarry 'La Côte rouge' to go to Metzert, at the foot of the cuesta. During the last kilometers, Nobressart, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia", closes the visit.
