Douglas Park is a park located at the intersection of Douglas Crescent and 206th Street in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. In 1965, there were plans to build a library in the park, but people protested against the proposed site and demanded that the library be built elsewhere. In 1971, Langley's city council had plans to install a Chinese garden in the park. In 1982, a day care centre in the park was replaced by a bowls meeting house and a bowling green was established adjacent to it. In June 2007, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) discovered a stolen motor vehicle near Douglas Park that contained a butcher knife and a sawed-off shotgun. The following month, an international festival was held in the park, and a resident of the community complained, sending the festival's organizer hate mail of a racist nature. That August, the blade of an X-Acto knife was found by a park worker stuck pointing up out of a playground rubber mat. Three months later, the body of a 42-year-old woman was found in the park and the RCMP investigated the death. In 2008, the Ishtar Transition Housing Society celebrated their 35th anniversary with a party in the park. In 2011, a human trafficking information session was held in Douglas Park as part of Freedom Week. Speakers at the information session included Peter Fassbender, Mayor of the City of Langley; Mark Warawa, Member of Parliament (MP) for Langley; and Jamie McIntosh, founder of International Justice Mission Canada. The three spoke about human trafficking on a local, national, and international level respectively.
