The Protestant Church of Roetgen is a hall church built between 1779 and 1782 in the Baroque style on the model of the Evangelical Church in Odenkirchen. The model is the Reformed Church in Rheydt-Odenkirchen. Typical of a Reformed church is the no-frills exterior and interior of the building, which impresses with its clear architecture. The organ and pulpit, which were purchased by the community, are much older.
In 1830, the previously blunt end of the tower was replaced by today's spire, crowned with the trumpeter angel, symbol of the Reformed Church of the Duchy of Jülich. During the tenure of Pastor Friedrich-Wilhelm Eltester, the pews were renewed and an altar was created by the Aachen sculptor Benno Werth. The presbytery belonging to the church dates from 1783-1784.
