Casa de les Escaletes de Forcall

The Casa de les Escaletes, or old Town Hall, is an administrative building in Valencian Gothic and Renaissance style built between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries that is located in the center of the municipality of Forcall, in the province of Castellón.

This building shows at least two distinct parts. On one side is the old brotherhood of San Miguel, with semicircular arches on the ground floor, and on the upper floor a main hall and another room. On the other side there is a three-storey building that does not coincide with those of the brotherhood; On the ground floor the old post house and prisons, above several rooms and finally an attic. Two clearly differentiated houses that at some point were joined by a staircase that connects the main hall located above the brotherhood, a possible meeting place for the council, with the main floor of the Town Hall.
