The church of Santa María de la Asunción in the Biscayan municipality of Marquina-Jeméin in the Basque Country is located to the east of the town, slightly separated from the centre, in the antechurch of Jeméin. It is the parish of the town.
In 1355 the town of Marquina was founded on land belonging to the pre-church of Jeméin and the church of the monastery of Xemenigan was assigned, outside the walls of the town, as a parish church that was shared by both municipal entities until its definitive unification in 1952.
