The Pyramid is a memorial stele to the victims of the Revolution; It is located in the commune of Bédoin, in the Vaucluse department. Its construction follows events dating from 1794.Au evening of May 2, 1794, during the revolutionary period, incidents led to the destruction of the tree of liberty, as well as the posting of laws and decrees on the common house of Bédoin. Sixty-six people were arrested and sentenced to death by the revolutionary court, set up in the village for the occasion. Executions by guillotine took place immediately. The situation, in the aftermath of these events, and for two months, did not improve: taxation of the population by new taxes, houses burned, fields rendered infertile, displacement of the population to neighboring villages, with house arrest. In order to calm the spirits, and restore peace within the village, the central authorities appointed Jean Bry as representative and conciliator. He rehabilitated the village during a secular festival on 4 May 1795, during which the memorial at the site of the beheadings was inaugurated. It has been listed as a historic monument since 23 July 2009.
