Description by the author

From the port of the largest city at the Côte d’azur, Nice, the route will bring you via one of the most beautiful coastal routes to Menton, the last French city before the Italien border. Leaving the Basse Corniche from Menton in the direction of Sainte-Agnès, the climb of the Col de la Madone starts. This 13,7km climb will bring you up from sealevel to 900m. Indescribable views will make the suffering less.
The descent towards a small village (Peille) starts at the top of the Madone. From Peille, the descending road will end in La Grave the Peille. From there the route will take you out the “arrière pays” into Nice. Returning in the port, one can use one of the many seats in the sun to enjoy a drink, fresh coffee or the typical Niçoise food “pissaladiere” or “Socca”.
