It is here in the Biblioteca Nazionale in FLorence that the notebooks of Galileo are stored. The leading expert on Galilean science, Stillman Drake, discoverd something in the scribbles of Galileo. He recreated the experiment where a ball at the top of the wooden incline was dropped. This experiment made Galileo discover the equations of falling bodies.
